CONTEST RULES
1. This contest is open to all UIB students.
2. The topic of this short story contest is free.
3. Prizes will be awarded to the three best short stories.
4. Only one entry is allowed per contestant.
5. All short stories must be original, unpublished and must not have been submitted to any other contest. Additionally, they should not exceed 500 words. The title will not be included in your word count.
6. Entries will be submitted as indicated below:

The email subject should be: “6th English short story contest”, followed by the pseudonym you will use to participate in the contest.
Please attach two different PDF files:
¾ your short story
¾ your personal data: name and surname(s), contact telephone, email address, DNI/ID number and the degree you are pursuing at the UIB.
The short story file should only include the contestant’s pseudonym of choice—NEVER their real name.
7. If contestants wish their short stories to be made public with their pseudonyms only, this has to be clearly indicated in the file containing the personal information.
8. The short story submission period will open upon the publication of the Short Story Contest rules and end on 15 April 2024.
9. The jury reserves the right not to select a winner if entries are not deemed to meet the requisite quality standards.
10. The date and place of the Short Story Prize ceremony will be announced at sac.uib.cat.
11. The authors will assign with full title guarantee their rights in their works to the University of the Balearic Islands. For its part, the University of the Balearic Islands reserves the rights of publication and use, always using the author’s name or pseudonym.
