Make a Wish, by Dunia de la Fuente
It was my birthday and I made a wish blowing out the candles. Tired of seeing the terrible things that were happening in the world, I asked for something to change it. A few days later my parents told me that we had to stay at home for a long time. A contagious virus had appeared and it was killing thousands of people. After spending several months at home, being patient and solidary – it’s the only way to overcome it – I think humans have realized what really matters: family, health, and freedom. And that’s what I had wished.
